Film Maker

“If you are artistic and enjoy moving images, this could be a perfect career for you.”

Film Maker

Film makers put to use their creative knowledge of moving images to create a final product that meets the needs of the client.

Often working self-employed or for a larger studio, film makers will work closely with clients to meet their specification. An understanding of video editing software as well as camera, lighting and sound equipment will form the day to day work.

Most employers or potential customers will expect you to have a portfolio or work, normally displayed online. Work experience and voluntary projects are a good way to build a portfolio.

Most professional film makers have a degree or foundation degree and have an understanding of other mediums.
