As an administrator you would make sure that day-to-day office tasks run smoothly. It's important that you are organised, accurate and pay close attention to detail.

Entry requirements can vary between employers. Most will prefer you to be educated to GCSE level and hold qualifications in maths and English. Other may prefer to test your practical skills such as typing, filing and customer service skills instead.

You will do most of your training while you are working to develop an understanding of how the business operates. Almost every kind of company and organisation in the UK employs administrative assistants. Once you have gained experienced you could work in a variety of sectors and industries, from small businesses to large employers such as the NHS.
